Trend is flourishing in an oversaturated market for athletic footwear. Fashion brands have utilized trend and hype to shift customers to a far less inferior product based on brand awareness. The shift has caused a situation where athletic brands have taken noticed and want a piece of the action. For example, if a Balenciaga fashion shoe can sell for $1200 with no technology, what do you expect athletic shoe brands to do, turn a blind eye? Think about what Kanye West did for Adidas, and Virgil Abloh did for Nike. However, a trend is just a trend, which is only temporary. With that said. I think there will be two roads athletic footwear brands will choose, and some are large enough to engage in both options.

Shoe Evolution

First, athletic brands will continue to focus on trend rather then technology and follow suit to the fashion industry. Second, larger athletic brands will be technology driven by forming partnerships with smaller shoe companies, and also creating products for the latest trends. Last, other shoe companies will decide to strictly be technology driven allowing the product to sell itself to consumers. I want to emphasize on the second prediction because it relates to what Internet companies do every year, buy smaller startup technology driven companies, which makes them more powerful. Hence the quote that, “Its a dog eat dog world”. Due to the current state of the athletic shoe market, smaller companies that are technology driven have an opportunity to renovate the history of shoe evolution.

What would an upcoming shoe company look like if you put Steve Jobs, and Elon Musk working together? With design you would expect for Steve Jobs to create something that he brought from the future. For technology you would expect Elon Musk to manufacture something that has never entered your imagination for what an athletic shoe could be. Ultimately, with two icons working together to form the ultimate Transformer, it would simply be ground-breaking! Unfortunately, Steve Jobs has passed on but his legacy is still present. And Elon Musk is preparing to put people on Mars with his company Space X. However, there is a company that has been working on a solution to answer these problems, and at the head is an inventor and founder who has design focus like Steve Jobs, and the genius of Elon Musk.

The company is Pharaoh Athletics, and they have been working on creating athletic footwear designed for athletes who play on grass, and turf related fields since 2013. The shoe invention that was created is about to change the way you wear shoes on a daily basis, but for now they plan to assist athletes perform at a higher level with no drugs involved. This is the story of an unknown Company gearing up to change the athletic shoe market gambling on Tech Footwear.
